HbA1c (Glycated Hemoglobin)

This laboratory investigation measures the average level of blood sugar (glucose) over the past 2 to 3 months by evaluating glycated hemoglobin in the blood. It is widely used by clinicians to screen for, diagnose, and monitor diabetes and prediabetes. Unlike daily blood glucose tests, HbA1c provides an overall picture of long-term blood sugar control. Results should be interpreted alongside clinical history and other diagnostic tests.
